Notaez is a also a part of the municipality of Almegíjar. These villages are "open air" museums in the Alpujarras", where you can see perfectly the most characteristic elements; the "tinaos" (roofs) and "Launa" (chestnut beams,) that have been painted with white lime which gives these villages a special light.
