The village is located at 1005 meters above sea level and has 89 inhabitants. It is one of the oldest cities of the municipality La Taha. Its name is derived from "ferum" what means iron and this comes from a place of the mineral iron, so it was called "little iron mine".
The village is hidden in the canyons; from far away you see only the tower of the church. Like the other Taha villages is has kept his authentic archtecture and nice narrow streets. Ferreirola has managed to preserve traditional architecture, unencumbered by the fanaticism of tourism of other villages. It is a magical place where you can relax carefree, away from stress and pollution of large cities.
