Fondales

Fondales is part of the 7 villages that are forming the municipality La Tahá. The village has only 55 inhabitants and it is the most isolated of the seven. Its architecture has hardly changed, which makes it one of the purest. This makes this village the most popular. The winding streets uphill and sometimes narrow, do you think of other times. Fondales has a also magnificent medieval bridge over the river Trevélez. The road is the oldest official route from Orgiva. At the river you find also the Roman Bridge of Fondales although it is not built in the Roman period but between the 13th and 16th century.

The village has a small chapel, just a small room, which functionates as a local church. Here they celebrated their festivals in honor of the Virgen del Rosario.
