Válor

The village is located at 909 meters above sea level and has 609 inhabitants. The town has a rich history. They found remains of the Bronze Age and Roman period. The municipality of Valor is part of the Natural Park of Sierra Nevada, and is located on the south side nestled between two ravines. To its municipality belongs also Nechite and Mecina Alfahar. It is a very authentic village with its small narrow streets and "tinaos". In the town are some bars.

Festivities in Válor

In June or July a cultural week is celebrated;
In the first weekend of August are the festivities held in honor of San Cayetano;
Fiestas de Moros y Cristianos is celebrated from the 12th until the 15th of September;
On the 25th of December are Dancing Souls celebrated: It has been held since the founding of the Brotherhood of the Holy Christ in the sixteenth century. The stewards, accompanied by musicians with guitars and mandolins go through the town, from house to house, asking for bonuses for the holidays next summer. The neighbors, in turn, provide the traditional tray of sweets and drinks to repair forces. Traditionally the procession was accompanied by pack animals to collect agricultural products that neighbors gave them.
