The Castle Ruins of Mondújar

At the southeast of Lecrín in the village of Mondújar, are the ruins of the castle of Mondújar situated. It is just a few hundred meters from the highway to Motril, but difficult to see until you are close. To reach the hill of Castillejo you have to take the exit from the highway to Lecrín and follow the signs to the castle, a slope between orange groves, that becomes a path through olive terraces. It is a steep climb, and 1,5 km walk from the road in order to reach the entrance of the old castle.
