The village is situated at 804 meters above sea level and has 6101 inhabitants (2014). The name Iznalloz comes from Arabic Hisn Allauz which means "Castle Almond". The people are living mainly from the agriculture (olives).
Cueva del Agua (guided visits for groups) . The cave has extensive galleries of the Jurassic period, lakes at different levels and different
depths and even an indoor river. Inside were discovered utensils, ceramics, burials, etc., of eneolíticas cultures, that have been deposited in the Provincial Archaeological Museum of
Granada.
