A cave of arround 100 meters and a depth of 20 meters and a very low ceiling. There are several rooms. The entrance is extremely narrow and is followed by a rolling mill of about 4 m. The cave is well known and it was the subject of several campaigns of archaeological excavations: in the mid-50s. In the 70s two excavations were carried out by archaeologists from the University of Granada. Remains of human occupation of the Chalcolithic period was found; primarily graves, although in recent excavations authors claim that the cave could have been functioned as another type of occupation, as habitat or temporary shelter. It is located on the northern slope of Cerro del Castellón, 1 kilometer east of the center of the village.
The topography was performed in 1976 by cavers the Madrid group GE Malicious aimed at different stratigraphic reference raised in the cavity.Click here for a plan of the cave.
