Beas de Granada

The village is situated at 1072 meters above sea level and has 1005 inhabitants (2014). The town is surrounded by hills, and with beautiful views of Sierra Nevada, the highest point of the municipality is formed by the Buenavista (1667 meters high), together with other neighboring mountains as the cerro Oscuro, La Canasta, Los Enebrales, Calabozo (1649 meters high), Cerro de la Cruz (1367 meters high), Retamar, Pararrayos (1658 meters high) and Cuerda de los Pelados are forming the Sierra de Beas.

Festivities in Beas de Granada

On the 6th of January are the festivities of "la Cata" celebrated, this is going together with the local mosto;
On the 3rd of May is the "Dia de la Cruz" celebrated;
The "Corpus Christi is celebrated in May or June;
In the last weekend of August are the festivities of the patron San Roque are celebrated;
On the 12th of October the Pilgrimage to the chapel of the Virgen del Pilar del Colmenar is held. The residents of Beas de Granada and Huétor Santillan join together to pull the Virgin.
