Cájar (37°08′03″N 3°34′15″O)
The village is situated at 732 meters above sea level and has 4929 inhabitants (2014). The village is located at the foot of Sierra Nevada between Huétor Vega and La Zubia. Cájar is, with its 1.65 km², the smallest municipality in area of the province of Granada and in the entire community. It is also is one of the municipalities with the highest population density of the Granada province.
The archelogical remains they found date back to 2,500 years B.C.
There was a farmhouse called CUIYAR where a palace of an Arab Noble (who fall in love of this land and its surroundings) was. Later the name became CAXAR, an Arabic name which means place where many silk raised. There were around 400 mulberry trees.
