Embalse de Canales

Embalse de Canales is a reservoir that is located in the foothills of Sierra Nevada, in the town Güejar Sierra. The dam was inaugurated in 1988. It belongs to the watershed of Guadalquivir.

The Genil river has a length of 358 km, it is the second river of Andalusia after the Guadalquivir which is affluent, born in the province of Granada (Laguna de la Mosca) and flows into the province Cordoba. This river also runs through other important towns such as Granada, Loja, Genil Bridge and Écija.
