The church was built in the first half of the 16th century at the place that was occupied by a mosque. It was one of the smallest and simplest of Granada temples. Covered by Mudéjar, in the late nineteenth century the ship had collapsed, but the main chapel which had some paintings was conserved. The original tower is behind the head of the temple, right in the door shaft, avery unusual provision in the Granada architecture. It was also badly damaged during the Civil War.
