The Paseo de los Tristes and Carrera del Darro is described by many as one of the most beautiful streets in the world. It is a 500 year old cobblestone street that goes parallel to the River Darro (the river that gives gold). Although many people link the name to the melancholy of the landscape, with the majestic Alhambra and the river running at his feet. It became the name because through this street passed the funeral processions that were headed to the cemetery beside the Alhambra. Now adays the river boulevard is covered with terraces where you can have a drink or a meal.
