Cueva de los Picones Bajos - Natural Park Sierra de Castril

The cave is situated in Natural Park Sierra de Castril. The access is from the village of Cebas (Castril) and its entry is located about 300 m. the first marble excavation and next to a small rocky promontory. The entrance is of small dimensions and it leads to two wells with intermediate shelves that leads to a platform of embedded blocks; aother step puts you at the head of a new vertical one that descends and takes you to the beginning of a meander with parietal speleothems as beautiful dishes. At the end  it becomes impenetrable (-83 m.).

Material recommended: rope of 85 meters (or three 25-35-20), anchoring tapes, a pair of chunky platforms, 6 plates and 6 snap hooks.

The cave is located at the Tornajuelo peak at 1,500 meters above sea level, with a development of 107 meters and a height of 83 meters. UTM coordinates: 5145-41847. Source: http://www.huescar.org/castrilcuevas.php
